About Us
The Black Experience started as a Facebook group on December 27, 2016. As the group grew larger we decided to expand to offer news, entertainment, and other community features. “TBE” is Black-owned and operated.
We are a small group of progressive Black Americans. To learn more about us, view the bios below.
We believe in and support:
- Black PEOPLE
- Black CULTURE

- Black KNOWLEDGE
- Black MONEY
- Black BUSINESS
Ro, a second-year psychology student, founded The Black Experience. She currently lives in the Midwest with her family. She spends her days creating content and researching the history of Black Americans. When not studying or knee-deep in TBE content, she can be found spending time with her family or nurturing her Blerdy side with video games, planner tools, and large amounts of cute toys.Â
Momo is a woman who specializes in writing, reading, and productive procrastination. She’s enjoyed writing creative stories since she was two years old (though she couldn’t exactly write at that time). Since then, she’s been working on plenty of short stories, webcomics, and novel ideas.Â
Born in 1987 to immigrant parents (a Haitian mom and a Jamaican dad), Prisca is deeply fascinated by island life, culture, and cuisine. Having been raised in Houston, Texas, she finds herself enamored by ALL aspects of the African diaspora. Some fun facts about her: she is a FAMU alum, a Gemini, and an avid reader.
