Out of the 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within these United States, currently, only 101 of them are accredited. According to Vocabulary.com, “Accreditation is the act of granting credit or recognition, especially to an educational institution that maintains suitable standards. Accreditation is necessary to any person or institution in education that needs to prove that they meet a general standard of quality.”
The experiences that young, Black adults get when they decide to obtain their degree at an HBCU are unmatched!
“HBCUs offer all students, an opportunity to develop their skills and talents. These institutions train young people who go on to serve domestically and internationally in the professions as entrepreneurs and in the public and private sectors.”- US Department of Education
