10 Engrossing Documentaries on Netflix

I, like thousands of others across the country, have been in quarantine mode the last few months. Working from home has not been that bad (for me), as it has allowed me to actually utilize my Netflix account! The following are all documentaries/specials that I have watched. While some subjects are light-hearted, there are a few that will cause you to conduct research and learn. I highly encourage others to check these out.

This Canadian music documentary series is hosted by Juno Award-winning artist, Shad. This documentary series profiles the history of hip-hop music through interviews with many of the genre’s leading cultural figures.


9. What Happened, Miss Simone? (2015)

What Happened, Miss Simone?

This Netflix original utilizes recently found audiotapes that span over the course of three decades. Nina tells her life story to various interviewers and journalists.


10. The Story of Us with Morgan Freeman (2017)

The Story of Us with Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman explores the meaning of life, God, and many big questions in between in an effort to understand how religion has evolved and shaped society.
